Preventive Maintenance

UPS systems are complex pieces of highly technical electronic equipment and need regular preventive maintenance (PM). The maintenance intervals can vary from one to four PM visits per year or in some cases, even monthly. This maintenance needs to be performed by an experienced, highly trained UPS Field Engineer, skilled in the theory and operation of UPS Systems.

Just as the implies, preventive maintenance is performed as an effort to identify problems and potential faults prior to them causing costly downtime. Many industry standards have been established by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s leading professional organization for the advancement of technology.
During a Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspection, Nationwide Power’s Field Engineers will perform several visual and mechanical checks including (but not limited to):

• Communicate and review customer’s concerns, past maintenance, and performance
• Review equipment alarm history and operation of the system
• Inspect power components for discoloration, damage and fatigue
• Perform thermal scan and visual inspection of all accessible components.
• Inspect general overall condition of battery plant
• Measure and record input, output, battery voltages, currents, and frequency
• Verify proper operation of remote status panel and monitoring
• Perform general interior and exterior cleaning of the system

Nationwide Power’s highly skilled Field Engineers each average more than 15 years of experience, managing and servicing a variety of UPS systems for some of the largest brand names in business. Many have been formally trained by the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The multi-brand experience gives our Field Engineers superior problem solving skills and abilities in both operation and theory. They apply their knowledge in solving problems and preventing problems from occurring.

We properly service our customer’s equipment and manage their maintenance, which allows our customers to minimize downtime by interrupted and inconvenient power losses and helps keep them operational and moving ahead.
