Synopsis | Customer called Nationwide Power for their 20-year old Powerware Plus UPS unit after experiencing a power outage. Their generator is currently under repair, and so the load did not switch to the generator during the outage. After the outage, the UPS unit went down and was in alarm. Alarm shown: Inverter Shut Down. |
Preliminary Actions | Through established troubleshooting protocol, the Critical Power Professional™ (CPP™) was able to assist the customer in bringing the Powerware Plus UPS unit back online within just 10 minutes. Nationwide Power CPP’s are equipped with troubleshooting protocol for all major makes and models of UPS systems, including those that are deemed obsolete by the OEM. |
Resolution | Once the batteries had an opportunity to recharge, the UPS system was fully operational with the load attached and protected. |
Root Cause | After the power outage, and due to the generator being inoperable, the UPS unit depleted its batteries to end voltage. Because this Powerware Plus UPS unit has been properly serviced over the past 20 years, the system continues to operate as designed. |
