SynopsisCustomer stating that UPS is going in and out of alarm intermittently
Preliminary ActionsNationwide Power Engineer onsite to trouble shoot the UPS for intermittent alarms. No internal issues wrong with the UPS. All batteries passed Midtronics test and were within manufacturers parameters. Alarm log indicated no problems, with last logged entry almost 3 weeks prior.
ResolutionAfter additional trouble shooting, problem first appeared around the time a new HP server was installed. Nationwide Power Engineer tested input and output of server and pinpointed problem down to a faulty single phase power supply internal to the recently purchased HP Proliant server.
Root CauseOlder and faulty used power supply used in a recently purchased server.
