Brian Hermann Receives Safety Letter of Recognition

Congratulations to Brian Hermann for his recent recognition for safety.

Brian joined the Nationwide Power team in 2000 and has over 30 years of experience in the critical power industry.

During a routine preventive maintenance appointment, Brian noticed the critical power room showed signs of regular sewer flooding. Water has been entering the electrical room near the orange cone in the picture below, just to the right of the UPS equipment. The stained floor shows that the water has reached as far as the support beam next to the UPS, behind the back of the UPS, and perhaps even under it. This poses major safety and environmental concerns.

Nationwide Power utilizes a Risk 360° technique when on site to evaluate risk factors in the critical power environment.

Brian, after observing this severe electrical hazard, properly addressed it with the client.

Thank you, Mr. Hermann, for your continued commitment to safety.

Larry Meadows Receives Safety Letter of Recognition

Congratulations to Larry Meadows for his recent recognition for safety.

Larry Meadows joined the Nationwide Power team in 2013 and has over 33 years of experience in the critical power industry, split between direct OEM experience and independent service providers.

Recently, Larry Meadows performed service at a customer location where he observed linens and other [flammable] items placed in dangerous proximity to the UPS and ancillary equipment.

Nationwide Power has a policy in which we recommend to our field service team to utilize a Risk 360° technique whenever on-site to evaluate risk to both themselves and others. The policy excerpt from the Nationwide Power EH&S Manual is below:

In observing this hazard, Larry not only addressed it with the customer but also followed up by requesting Safety Hazard signs be ordered and sent to him for placement at the site!  In working with our Sourcing department, the below approved signage has been ordered and sent to him:

With the addition of this signage,  hopefully the customer will use safer housekeeping practices around the UPS and electrical equipment.

Thank you, and job well done Mr. Meadows!

AS PART OF OUR GROWTH STRATEGY FOR 2018, WE ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME WILLIAM THOM TO THE NATIONWIDE POWER FAMILY

In our recent wave of new hires, William Thom recently joined the Nationwide Power family, and we couldn’t be more excited. According to Jim Hallingstad, Vice President at Nationwide Power, “We’re excited to have William as part of the team. His commitment to quality and service makes him a great fit at Nationwide Power.”

With over 25 years of experience in working with uninterruptible power supply and critical power systems, William brings a wealth of experience in both an OEM and independent provider capacity. William has lead teams both domestically and internationally, always focusing on quality and service.

NP is very serious in the selection process for Field Engineers, as they are truly the face of the company. “Quality and service are at the core of what we do, and it is important that any new member of the NP family shares our values. Additionally, our Field Engineer team boasts an industry leading 22+ years of average experience spanning all major OEM’s. In the spirit of continuously raising our own bar, we recruit and hire only the best of the best.” Jim explains, referring to William’s sought-after skill set and level of expertise.

At Nationwide Power, we pride ourselves on being the employer of choice for field engineers in the critical power industry. While many companies have reputations for spreading their teams very thin – working their teams at 100% + productivity rate – Nationwide Power truly believes in work-life balance as playing a big role in the company’s overall success. When Field Engineers are away from their families for extended periods of time, always on the road, and without adequate rest time between jobs, it inevitably begins to show in the quality of work. William explains, “While I’ve certainly enjoyed my time at my past company, Nationwide Power has a reputation of true work-life balance, and that is something I very much look forward to.”

As the leading independent service provider for UPS, our team has a presence in all 48 contiguous states and all major metropolitan areas. Our strategic location of our field engineer team allows for a 4-hour average response time or less throughout the country.

Nationwide Power provides 24/7/365 technical support to ensure that everything operates and transitions successfully before, during, and after any power outage.

Let’s celebrate! Our Critical Power Professionals just hit 500,000 hours worked with zero safety incidents

Over the past two decades, Nationwide Power has grown to have one of the largest footprints among independent providers in the critical power industry, specializing in the sales and service of uninterruptible power supplies. Safety and quality are at the core of our business model, and we consider our recent achievement a big win for the team.

Through online, classroom and on-the-job training, our Field Engineers cover a wealth of safety standards including IEEE standards in electrical safety, NFPA 70E Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE training. We’ve received safety awards such as the SHARP award after successful participation in the Safety & Health Achievement Program, an OSHA Cooperative.

According to our Vice President of Field Operations, Dan Sears, “Our Field Engineer team is exposed to potentially dangerous situations daily, but are committed to promoting a safe work environment for themselves and for our clients. Our field team regularly achieves long stretches with zero safety incidents, and we are pleased with our most recent achievement of 500,000 hours worked with zero incidents.”

Safety and quality are not just departments here at Nationwide Power, rather they are core values that we live be every day as we strive to provide the industry best in service, safety, reduced downtime, and customer satisfaction.

Check out what’s on the horizon as we work to elevate the training standards across the critical power industry with the Critical Power Professional™ (CPP™) designation and credentialing program.

Nationwide Power participates in Glow Worm 1 Mile & 5K in Henderson, NV

Family and community. It’s who we are.

Nationwide Power has grown to have one of the largest national footprints among independent providers in the critical power industry, but we haven’t lost our family-like culture.

Last Saturday, the Nationwide Power team members and families came together for a company picnic and open house, followed by participating in the local Glow Worm 1 mile & 5k Run at Equestrian Park in Henderson, NV.

Our company picnic was full of food, games, music, smiling faces and happy kiddos.

Tom, our Lead Repair Technician, hosted an attention-grabbing and informative demo that even the tiniest guests enjoyed! The demo gave families a good understanding of what we do on a day-to-day basis. Tom was able to relate uninterruptible power supply equipment to our everyday lives.

After the company picnic and open house, we moved on to the Glow Worm 1 mile / 5k run, sponsored by Henderson, NV Parks & Recreation.

We were thrilled to see so many families come out and participate in our company and community event.

At Nationwide Power, we truly believe our employees are the lifeblood of our organization.

Ready to join the best in the industry?

Nationwide Power Sponsors St. George Ironman Relay Teams

Commitment. Dedication. Teamwork.

Sounds like Nationwide Power and the spirit of the Ironman race have a few things in common.

Nationwide Power was proud to sponsor two relay teams participating in the St. George 70.3 Ironman this past weekend, one of which placed #17. The Ironman relay consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a 13 mile run.

Our creative team had a fun time designing the jerseys. #StopLookingAtMyGenerator

And the finishing teams had fun representing.

The first team, #TeamLazy, consisted of 3 competitive athletes and placed #17 among all relay teams.

The second team, #TeamMSM, consisted of a 19-time Ironman finisher and two first-time Ironman participants. Total time to complete the course: 7 hours , 43 minutes.

Nicely done, teams! Way to keep that generator going.
